BBC’S annual Price of Football study always gives the best insight into Premier League football tickets, and it is Arsenal who were once again charging the most in the 2017-18 season.
The club charged £891 for the cheapest and most popular annual football ticket at the Emirates, while the most expensive on offer comes in at a whopping £1,768.50 – a decrease from £2,013 last year.
However, most fans at Liverpool are paying a similar amount for football tickets as Arsenal supporters do.
Fans at Anfield can get a season pass for as cheap as £685, but the most popular season ticket costs £869 – just £22 less than the amount that Arsenal do.
The four most expensive season football tickets in the Premier League are all at the London clubs, with Tottenham Hotspur (£1,700), Chelsea (£1,250) and West Ham (£1,155) joining Arsenal in charging premium rates for their top seats.
Despite the high season ticket prices, Spurs and West Ham make it affordable to see the one-off game, charging £20 and £25 for a single football ticket respectively.
Only Paris Saint-Germain have a more expensive season ticket than these English sides in the whole of Europe, with their priciest offering costing £2,817.50 to see the likes of Neymar and Edison Cavani in the flesh.
As far as the rest of the Premier League goes, Huddersfield Town fans can get the most value for money, with season tickets starting as cheap as £100 which averages to just over £5 every home Premier League game.
The Terriers have also capped their individual tickets at £30 and highest season ticket at £299, emphasising their reputation of being a people’s club.
Fellow promoted club Brighton & Hove Albion haven’t been quite as lenient with their pricing. The cheapest season football ticket is available for £495 and the dearest £815, however free travel and parking within the matchday travel zone is included.
Newcastle United haven’t made it cheap to visit St. James’ Park on a regular basis either. It’ll cost you £473 for the cheapest season ticket and £735 for the most expensive.
Across the whole league, fans pay on average £538.53, which is a decrease of nearly £11 on last season.
For individual match tickets, Arsenal also have the priciest offering, charging up to £95.50 for a ticket purchased online.
Chelsea charge up to £87, while West Ham (£80), Tottenham (£75) and Brighton (£60) are also among the more expensive.
Unlike with season Premier League football tickets, Liverpool have the cheapest single game offering, with advance online bookings available for as little as £9. Only 500 of these tickets are available for supporters living in the L postcode.
